Currently
based in the wilds of upstate New York by way of
Los Angeles, the origins of Mason Mixx are
in the punk and new wave insanity
of LA.
Having a shotgun pulled on him behind The Troubadour
in West Hollywood, running into Ray
Manzarek and Robby
Krieger of The
Doors, in a dark alley behind the same
club for a brief, friendly chat.
The San Pedro house party with Black Flag
(Minutemen
serving as bouncers) cut short by the
police.
Opening the show for Tom
Verlaine at a club in Anaheim was an
amazing experience. What a tremendous artist he
was.
Watching Iggy Pop
do a back flip over the drummer at a
word-of-mouth-only show, secretly hosted at the
Cuckoo's
Nest in Costa Mesa. Playing that
night in Iggy's band was Glen
Matlock (original bass player with
the Sex
Pistols) along with Patti
Smith's guitarist, Lenny
Kaye.
Let the joyful insanity continue!
